These Terms of Service ("Terms") are an agreement between you and SitReps, operated as a sole proprietorship based in Florida ("SitReps," "we," "us," or "our"). They govern your use of the website at sitreps.app and the chair-flying practice tool, debriefs, and related features we provide (the "Services").
By creating an account or using the Services, you agree to these Terms and acknowledge our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Services.
SitReps is a procedural-recall study aid. It helps you rehearse maneuver procedures out loud and gives structured feedback on what you said. It is not flight instruction, ground instruction, or an evaluation, and it is not approved, endorsed, or reviewed by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) or any other authority.
Debriefs are generated automatically by an artificial intelligence model (currently provided by Anthropic) that compares a transcript of your spoken attempt against a stored step list. AI output can be inaccurate, incomplete, or inconsistent: it may miss steps you performed, flag steps you did not miss, or misread your speech. The transcript itself comes from your browser's speech recognition and may contain errors. Do not rely on a debrief as an authoritative assessment of your knowledge or skill; confirm anything important with your CFI.

Our content. The Services, including the software, design, maneuver step lists, and other materials, are owned by SitReps or its licensors (including SkyWarrior Flight Training) and are protected by intellectual property laws. We grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Services for your own flight-training study, subject to these Terms. All rights not expressly granted are reserved.
Your content. You keep ownership of what you submit, such as the transcripts of your spoken attempts, feedback, and messages ("Your Content"). You grant us a worldwide, royalty-free license to host, process, and use Your Content to operate and provide the Services (including sending it to our service providers to generate debriefs), and to use Your Content in de-identified form to maintain and improve the Services, as described in our Privacy Policy. This license continues for de-identified data after your account is deleted.
Suggestions. If you send us ideas or suggestions, we may use them without any obligation to you.
Our Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, who can see it (including approved flight instructors), and how to delete your account. Our Cookie Policy explains what we store in your browser.
SitReps is offered as a beta service, currently free of charge. We may add, change, limit, or remove features, maneuver content, or the Services as a whole at any time, with or without notice. We do not guarantee that the Services will be available, uninterrupted, or error-free, or that any data will be preserved. If we introduce paid features, we will tell you about the price and terms before you are charged.
You may stop using the Services at any time and can delete your account from your account page. We may suspend or terminate your access at any time if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms, if required by law, or if we discontinue the Services. Sections 5 (as to the licenses you grant us), 9, 10, 11, 12, and 14 survive termination.
THE SERVICES ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING ANY IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ACCURACY, TITLE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT MANEUVER CONTENT, TRANSCRIPTS, OR DEBRIEFS ARE ACCURATE, COMPLETE, OR CURRENT, OR THAT USING THE SERVICES WILL IMPROVE YOUR PERFORMANCE OR HELP YOU PASS ANY CHECKRIDE, KNOWLEDGE TEST, OR EVALUATION. Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties, so some of these exclusions may not apply to you.
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, SITREPS AND ITS OPERATOR WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS OF DATA, PROFITS, OR GOODWILL, OR FOR ANY PERSONAL INJURY OR PROPERTY DAMAGE ARISING FROM YOUR RELIANCE ON THE SERVICES IN FLIGHT TRAINING OR AIRCRAFT OPERATION, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THE SERVICES OR THESE TERMS, WHETHER BASED ON CONTRACT, TORT (INCLUDING NEGLIGENCE), OR ANY OTHER THEORY, EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.
OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS RELATING TO THE SERVICES OR THESE TERMS WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US FOR THE SERVICES IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM AROSE OR (B) ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS (US $100). Some jurisdictions do not allow these limitations, so they may not fully apply to you.
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless SitReps and its operator from any claims, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of your misuse of the Services, Your Content, or your violation of these Terms or of any law or third-party right.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida and applicable U.S. federal law, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Services will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Florida, and you and we consent to the personal jurisdiction of those courts. Before filing a claim, you agree to contact us first and try to resolve the dispute informally for at least 30 days.
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will change the "Last updated" date above, and for material changes we will give reasonable notice, such as a notice on the site or an email. Continuing to use the Services after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
These Terms and the policies they reference are the entire agreement between you and us about the Services. If any provision is found unenforceable, the rest remain in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not assign these Terms without our consent; we may assign them in connection with a transfer of the Services. Nothing in these Terms creates any partnership, employment, or agency relationship.
