This Cookie Policy explains what SitReps ("we," "us," or "our") stores in your browser when you use sitreps.app, and why. It should be read together with our Privacy Policy.
We only store what the site needs to work: keeping you signed in and remembering a couple of display choices. We do not use analytics, advertising, social-media, or cross-site tracking cookies, tracking pixels, or web beacons, and we do not let third parties track you through our site. Because everything we store is strictly necessary, we do not show a cookie consent banner.
Most of what we store is in your browser's local storage or session storage rather than in cookies. These work like cookies but stay in your browser and are not sent to our server automatically with every request.
| Name | Type | Purpose | How long |
|---|---|---|---|
Keys beginning with sb- | Local storage (set by Supabase, our authentication provider) | Keeps you signed in and lets the site prove who you are when it requests your data. | Until you sign out or clear your browser data |
cf_disclaimer_ack | Local storage | Remembers that you have seen the "training aid only" notice, so it isn't shown on every visit. | Until you clear your browser data |
sitreps-nav-instructor | Session storage | Remembers whether to show the Instructor link in the menu, so it doesn't flicker on each page. | Until you close the tab |
connect.sid | Cookie (first-party, secure, HTTP-only) | Keeps a site administrator signed in to the admin panel. Only set if you sign in to the admin panel. | 8 hours |
Our pages load a few files from outside providers: the Supabase sign-in library and our icon set are served from the jsDelivr content delivery network. As with any web request, those providers receive your IP address and basic browser information when the files load. We do not use them for analytics or advertising, and they do not place cookies on our behalf. Our fonts are hosted on our own server.
Speech recognition is handled by your browser, not by a cookie or script of ours. See the Privacy Policy for how that works.
You can clear or block cookies and site data in your browser settings. If you clear them, you will be signed out. If you block them, you will not be able to sign in, because the items above are needed for the site to work. Your browser's help pages explain how: Chrome, Edge, Firefox, Safari.
If we start storing anything new, we will update this page and the "Last updated" date above. If we ever add optional cookies such as analytics, we will ask for your permission first where the law requires it.
